FAQ
Your name is Hello Doggy! Do you care for cats or other pets too?
Yes! When the business was started, I lived in a very dog-friendly community nicknamed "Dog-edin". The branding fit (and Hello Kitty was already taken 😹) but since I've moved to L.A. I actually take care of far more kitties than doggies! I grew up with cats and haven't been able to have them in many years because my husband is very allergic so it has been nice to spend time with kitties again!
As far as other pets, I have cared for chickens and baby chicks as well and am happy to learn how to take care of any other kind of pets you have...just no snakes, please. 😅
What is a drop-in visit?
During a drop-in visit, your pet will receive individual, loving attention in their own home. Drop-in visits can be either 30 or 60 minutes in length for dogs or 20, 45, or 60 minutes in length for cats, depending upon your pet’s needs which can be determined at the meet and greet with your pet sitter.
Drop-in visits include:
- Potty breaks / litter box cleaning
- Food, water, oral medication or vitamin distribution
- Playtime
- Unlimited pets and snuggles!
- Mail/packages/newspapers brought in, trash cans rolled in/out, plants watered, security features like blinds opened/closed or lights left on or off, etc. - let us know what you need!
Please note that visit times may not be exact due to our busy schedule and unforseen circumstances that may come up like traffic, pets who are slow to potty, get sick, etc. Therefore when booking, you will be asked to request your preferred two-hour time-frame. We will do our best to accommodate as close to the exact time you would like as we can.
*If you would like your pet walked during a drop-in visit as well, please note that extra time may be needed for the visit. We recommend booking a 60 minute session if you would like a full walk in addition to feeding, playtime, and snuggles.
What is a walk?
A walk is based on your pet's normal distances* and routes. The first few minutes of our visit is usually a warming up period- making sure they remember us and feel safe with us by giving them attention and treats if they are allowed to have them, followed by our walk, then a few minutes for more attention and treats at the end of the visit.
*For distances of more than 1 mile, please book a 60 minute visit.
**What are the benefits of hiring a pet sitter? **
Your pet remains in the comfort and security of their home.
Research has proven that pets are most comfortable in their own environment while the owner is away.
An affordable alternative to boarding.
Your pet is less likely to acquire disease or parasites from other animals.
Your pet's customary diet and routine are maintained.
We provide loving, reliable, and personal attention to your pet's special needs.
Our regular visits provide crime deterrence for your home while you are away.
You can travel with peace of mind knowing your pet(s) is home and in good hands.
Will it be you (Stacy) doing all the visits/walks or do you have subcontractors also?
It is just me right now! When I was based in Florida, my husband and mother-in-law worked with me, but now it is just me. If an emergency comes up and I am unavailable, fortunately I work closely with two other L.A.-based pet sitting companies who will step in if needed, after a meet and greet with you first, of course.
Do you offer overnight services or boarding?
We have two of our own very needy rescue dogs who don't do well with others, so unfortunately we do not offer overnight or boarding services at this time.
